Artist statement

The myth of the photographer as an artist the reversal of modernism
As photography becomes imbedded in our minds, as we walk beside popular images, caress them, even lay beside them. They surround and consume us to the point that even we are the image the vision. To see and be seen, to have and to want more. Photographers have worked to break free of the reservations of imagine branding of the pattern of culture to produce something wholly unique even though photographs at there very basic are always a representation of our surroundings. Thus acceptance into a world of self-repetition and or "documentary" photography can be implied or the later, producing images so far removed from photography that to say that it was produced by a mechanism used to record light would be downright blasphemy.
Light and the lie
There are photographs and there are photographers. They never meet and they never grow apart. The light is recorded but it takes time to develop. The photographer takes time to develop, in my work I try to represent nothing more that the surrounds, the hidden, those things of interest that are tramped underfoot or held too high for the meek to see. It is "truth" but it cannot be called "documentary". That word is a sigma. It suggests that there are ethics and rules in life instead of feeling and instinct.
